The Power Of Branding Yourself In MLM

On of the things that I feel is not often talked about enough when it comes to marketing your home based business online is the power of branding. Branding is ultra important in the business world so why wouldn’t it be in the world of home based businesses?

See the golden arches and what do you think of? McDonalds of course! So why not use the same principals that have been successful for huge corporations and use it to help build your home based business? I don’t believe that you have to have a logo or a theme song to be successful but the more you can make your blogs, websites, you tube channels, and articles uniform and branded specifically for you the better.

The ultimate goal with branding is for someone to see something that you’ve done. Let’s say an article in this case and automatically know that it’s from you. One of the easiest ways to market online is to use the same username for everything you sign up for.

Your username can be your real name “AliciaDavis” or it can be something a little more creative and eye catching like “TheMLMQueen” whatever it is you need to use that username as much as possible. That means buying that domain name, using it as your you tube name, using it on Twitter, forums and even signing your blog posts with it.

You want people to be able to be able to see that name and think “hmm… TheMLMQueen…. I think I’ve seen her before… she must be pretty important”.

Another way that you can work on branding yourself is by having a particular style or theme. Maybe you want to be the facts guy. The person who knows everything about MLM and if you ever have any questions you’re the guy that people want to talk to. Maybe you want to have a silly or humorous writing or video style. Whatever that is stick with it. Don’t try to be all things to all people. Carve out a specific niche and stick with that as much as possible. That will set you apart from the crowd.

By finding subtle ways to brand yourself online you will become a more recognizable face and that will ultimately help people find you easier online and trust you more. Before you post your next article, blog or video ask yourself… what is my brand and how can I make it better?

Tired Of The Old School Network Marketing Techniques?

Have You Lost Your Faith In MLM?

Whenever I talk to people about my home based business opportunity I tend to hear that many people have lost all faith in MLM. Sure they believed in the idea of network marketing before but they’ve been burned and nothing can ever really change their mind or restore their faith. Have you lost all of your faith in MLM? If you have like I said you’re defiantly not alone.

However, I feel the need to tell you that just because you’ve been burned once in a home based business doesn’t mean you’ll never be able to have success again. In this article I’m going to go over a few of the reasons why people feel burned by MLM and why they have nothing to do with you having success from here on out.

The number one reason people tell me they’re turned off of network marketing is that whoever brought them into their last business told them things that just aren’t true. There is no way of knowing how long it will take for you to become successful working from home. For some people it takes a year or two for others it takes longer and in some rare cases it happens even sooner.

If someone has told you that you’ll be making a certain dollar amount in a certain period of time don’t trust them. What people don’t realize when they do this is that they are turning people off to the industry in general. Because all it takes is for one person not to make that deadline and they are upset and telling everyone about how that business doesn’t work.

So in the future make sure you’re working with people who you feel you can trust. People who are going to motivate you but not just fill you with hype.

Next, look at what you were doing. Did you really give your last business everything you had? Or did you do just enough to prove to yourself that it wasn’t going to work? You’d be SHOCKED at the number of people who sign up for a business, don’t try at all and then call the business it’s self a scam. Success in a home based business takes work… period.

Finally, you may have very well just been in a bad business. Yep, they’re out there. But that doesn’t mean that all businesses are the same. In fact far and away most all home based businesses are good! They’re legal and they’ll work for you. It’s just the few bad ones that sour the entire industry for many. Don’t believe the lies that all home based businesses are the same. They aren’t!

Are You A Network Marketing Fault Finder?

If you’re in a network marketing company you know they type of people I’m talking about… fault finders. These people might think they’re doing some good but all they’re really doing is holding themselves and sometimes others back.

So how do you know if you’re a network marketing fault finder? Why just check out this article of course. If you’ve done at least 3 out of the 5 things I’m about to list… watch out… you might be a fault finder!

If you… don’t like the most successful people in your company.

Look, you don’t have to love all the top earners in your company. However, if you don’t like most of them chances are it’s not them it’s you! People who aren’t successful like to find the faults of those who are when what you should really be doing is following their steps to success.

Who cares if they wore something tacky to convention or they don’t know which (their, there, they’re) to use. If they’re having success they must be doing something right! Just focus on that.

If you’re… always wanting to improve your products.

It doesn’t just have to be the products by the way, it could be the websites, the comp plan or whatever. The point is if you’re constantly wanting to improve things before you get started you’ll probably never get started.

No company is perfect so if that’s what you’re waiting for you might as well get out now. People have made hundreds of thousands of dollars and even millions in MLM with some of the stupidest products imaginable. So really… it just doesn’t matter.

If you’re… always emailing your upline with suggestions.

We’re sure your upline loves you, we’re also sure that they don’t want to get 30 emails a week from you. This is especially true if you’re emails are all ideas about how the company, the team or they could improve.

Look, your upline probably can’t change things anyway and honestly… it’s just gonna bring them down. So don’t do it!

If you… listen to stories of failure.

It’s true that for every 10 success stories in MLM there are about 100 stories of people who tried and failed. Don’t listen to them!

We’re sorry your cousins, best friends, aunt lost some money 15 years ago but listening to that kind of negativity doesn’t do anybody any good.

If you… focus on the details.

When it comes to success in MLM the details are not important. So stop focusing on them! Many, many successful 6 figure earners couldn’t tell you what they make on their 7th level. So why are you worried about it?

If you see yourself in any of these 5 examples you might just be a network marketing fault finder. But despair not! You can always turn away from your fault finding ways and trust me when you do you’re going to see a whole lot more success!

Stop finding the fault in your business and start making money in it! Isn’t that why you’re there in the first place?

Why Your Business Isn’t The Best Business

When we’re involved in a home based business we tend to have the firm belief that our business is the best business out there. In fact we often tend to look at people who are in other businesses and scoff. However, the cold hard fact is that there is no one perfect business that’s better than all the rest. There is only the perfect business for US.

While a business might be the end all and be all for one person it might not be for someone else. So it’s important to remember when talking to someone about joining our home based business that we can say we’re a part of the best business all we want but everyone else in network marketing is just going to be saying the exact same thing!

People who are shopping around for a home based business must think we’re awful silly because you can talk to one person in company X and all we talk about is why we’re better than company Y. The problem is that Company Y is saying the same thing about us! If we’re in an established company we want to talk bad about the little guy and if we’re in a new company we want to talk about the benefits of coming in on the ground floor.

The thing that anyone who’s trying to find the right business for them should look at is what do I personally want in a home based business. Because if you don’t know what you want in a business you might get talked into being a part of something that’s not ideal for you.

So remember when talking to people about your home based business that there are a lot of good businesses out there you don’t need to bash other people to prove that your company is great!

Some Of The Biggest MLM Lies

In the world of network marketing, it has long been advertised that the secret to growing a successful and strong MLM business is to duplicate your upline. Unfortunately, duplication has also formed the basis of much of the lies that have blemished the MLM industry.

An enormous disagreement was expected amongst many network marketers when the uncompromising report The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing was published.

For a long time, MLMers that were struggling were told to:

* duplicate their upline
* to consider anyone within 3 feet of you as a prospect
* that anybody could do this even without any sales
* that just by joining the business all the hard work would be done for you

Out of all these statements the one that was probably most annoying was “You don’t believe in it enough!”

MLM Lies

The world of MLM has suffered a steady decline as a result of such ambiguous statements being sold to network marketers.

A major issue that most distributors face is the necessity to create a consistent stream of prospects. If you cannot maintain a constant supply of business leads, the belief you have in your business and in yourself are irrelevant and your business will start to suffer and eventually fail.

The haphazard method of trying to convince friends, family, and strangers to join your business is not professional and is likely to tarnish you with a bad name. Even worse, your success rate will invariably be low and most network marketers throw in the towel at this stage as they find the process too difficult and tiring. This will account for such a large attrition rate in the MLM arena.

The 3 foot rule, where you should consider everyone within 3 feet of you as a prospect, is a lie and is more likely to cause more stress leaving you with no choice but to quit.

Attraction Marketing

The power of the Internet reaches across the globe. It is perfect for network marketers to attract prospects to their business. There is one problem however. The majority of network marketers have no idea where to start in order to promote their business in the online communities.

Many network marketers are told that anybody can run an MLM business. This is another of the great lies, and whilst it might be true offline, it’s a completely different story online.

With the power of the Internet you are able to specifically target prospects that you want to join your business. The basis of attraction marketing is to pre-sell to potential prospects before you introduce them to the primary business offer.

It is ironic that many of the renegade network marketers are starting to refute this particular theory. The application of attraction marketing methods online could not be any easier.

The Power Of Pre-selling In Network Marketing

There aren’t many online network marketers who focus their skills on pre-selling and those that do account for much of the 5% of those who succeed.

So, would pre-selling have a positive effect on your MLM business? Not just a positive effect, it would make your business take off in a very big way!

These new attraction marketing methods have made many a stressed out network marketer see the light. These network marketers were previously scrabbling around attempting to get their businesses started.

Until recently, in the world of MLM, it was practically unheard of to generate a steady cash flow from the front end.

The Internet has changed things dramatically and is now heralded as the strongest method for targeting the right prospects. This change to the way network marketing businesses are promoted has really turned things around.

Resistance from the Old School

“Resistance is futile” is a quote coined from the famous TV show “Star Trek”. This phrase was often used by an alien race known as the “Borg”. They captured other races into their commune and sent this message out to anybody who tried to resist their grasp.

There are a fair amount of network marketers who still teach the old school methods. Most of these methods are now so ancient and random compared to the online methods. Teachings such as treating everyone you meet as a potential prospect and to have a firm belief in the process are wearing a little thin. The network marketers who choose to recruit by using online methods will find they are dominating network marketing trade in the near future. If they continue to care for prospects in the initial phases with pre-selling in network marketing this should also mean they no longer need to apply methods involving the feared sales pitch.

Pre-Selling In Network Marketing

Pre-selling techniques have long been used by the most successful affiliate marketers. One of the leaders of online marketing is Ken Evoy, a well known online guru. Evoy teaches his students the power of pre-selling and for very good reason.

If you employ pre-selling in network marketing as a method for generating leads it can strengthen your recruitment labors no end.

In order to have your prospects agree to your business offer, you need to lead them gently into making the decision on their own. It’s all about nurturing relationships with them and when the time comes to show them your offer you will find they are already ready to join.

Tips On How To Become A Successful Network Marketer

Can you become a successful network marketer? Is it possible to reach your financial goals through network marketing? Yes, but you will need to learn the newest attraction marketing methods.

Do you know that over 90% of network marketers or MLM businesses fail within the first three months of their start? Are you aware that well over 90% of all network marketers have made even one dollar from their business? These are some of the hard facts about the MLM business and they are just some of the facts you must face if you are to become a successful network marketer.

Much has been made of the report published by Ann Seig. In her 39 page publication, "The 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing", Seig clearly discusses the reasons for the high failure rate within the MLM industry.
While Seig’s report discusses these reasons in more detail, in general she is saying that the old techniques most people use in their MLM systems are no longer working. The people who are joining systems today and will be taught to use the existing methods will inevitably become a part of the 90% plus failure group.

These being the case, if you plan to become a successful network marketer, learn what the old techniques are and then do something different. It’s an example a person expecting different results from the same method that has failed over and over again.

Learn the old methods that have proven to lead to failure. Understand how they are expected to succeed. Listen to what your upline is recommending and then modify these approaches.

If you want to become a successful network marketer understand that annoying friends and relatives is a waste of time and only makes you less likely to build your own network.

Also attending meeting after meeting will not help you to create your own methods for success. Yes, learn what the old methods are, but know when it is time to build your own.

In addition don’t believe the pitch that they'll build the business for you. You must break away from their out-dated methods and consider online attraction marketing methods.

Lastly do not buy hundreds of non-targeted leads and phone them with your offer. Learn where you can acquire the targeted leads and spend your resources here. The truth is, with attraction marketing, creating your own leads is a far better approach to take.

The methods that once worked for MLM, are not currently profitable. The 90% plus failure is stark proof of this. Just as those who developed the old successful methods built on existing ideas, if you want to become a successful network marketer you will need to build on the current ideas.

How do you attract prospects and what do you offer them as a value resource. Think about this for a minute because I'm about to reveal an MLM strategy which could change the fortunes of your business.

Well, at least it will help to build yourself as an expert in your field and give you an edge over the majority of MLM'ers out there.

What is this MLM strategy? Simple. Offer your prospects something of value before you even think about showing them your primary business opportunity.

That's it. I bet you are thinking "what is this guy on about? What value?" Let me tell you a story about how I was attracted into the MLM business.

My MLM Strategy

I was looking at creating an extra income after moving states because I went from living in a relatively inexpensive city to one where every dollar you made counted.

I looked at several network marketing opportunities but would you believe, not one offered an MLM strategy I was interested in and each distributor I spoke to only wanted to tell me how great their company was and how brilliant the products were.

Then one morning in June of 2001, I returned from an exercise run and checked my mail. There was a four page report among the official mail and my first reaction was..."junk!" I had time on my hands so I read it.

To say I was engrossed with the message was an understatement and I had no hesitation in leaving a message on the toll free number provided. What was the report about? It just talked about the difference between the rich and the poor and provided a host of tips on how to improve one's financial situation.

It did enough to arouse my curiosity and the value it offered was enough to want to make me meet the author. It was different to all the "our company is the greatest in the world and our products will change your life" stuff I had been getting.

The person whop attracted my curiosity did something different. He offered me value and he presented himself as an expert. It's a great MLM strategy and one you can apply to your business today.

Network marketing lead generation is the key behind any successful MLM business. Without lead generation your business is ultimately doomed for failure. We personally are not fans of buying network marketing leads no matter what the price is. The reason for this is that we are not in control.

What do we mean by not being in control? Simply because we weren't the ones who generated the leads. Do you know how fresh the leads are you purchased or how they were generated. Worse still, how many people have already used them?

Network Marketing Lead List

The following is one of the biggest misnomers in the network marketing business. The idea is that when you start or join a business you should buy network marketing leads and purchase as many as you can to be successful. On sites that sell these you can usually buy the best qualified lead to worst qualified lead, and most people buy the best which cost hundreds of dollars.

At this point many people believe that the rest of their business will be extremely easy. Furthermore, people go around calling people one at a time. The majority of them may not even answer the phone. Those that do are usually unreceptive.

And this leads to the issue of being affected by constant rejection. How would it make you feel to keep hearing people less than tolerant of you being on the phone. Heck, most of the time they are surprised and not even sure how they got on a list or when they asked for further information.

How Fresh Are Your MLM Leads?

It is important to know how fresh your MLM leads are because if they are not fresh they are virtually worth nothing. You may soon come to realize that purchasing leads may have not been the best idea in the world. Network marketing lead generation can be successful, but it is extremely important that you are the one in control of your leads.

At least you know they are fresh and why they responded to your message. And with the attraction marketing process in place then most of the time, they will be contacting you. Wouldn't that make for a happier network marketing experience.
