Let’s face it, a lot of people just hate MLM! Call it what you want, a home based business, MLM, direct sales or network marketing…. There are some people who just hate it all. I’m sure if you think about it you can even think of some family members that hate MLM right? Like your dad or your uncle Fred or your cousin Larry. Well let me tell you why uncle Fred hates MLM and why you really shouldn’t care at all!

He Gave Up Too Quickly - How can anyone really expect to make a ton of money from home in a week, a month or even 6 months!? The truth is that network marketing is a BUSINESS and just like any other type of business it’s going to take time to grow. So many people give MLM a “try” for a month or two and then give up. We’re pretty sure Microsoft or IBM weren’t built in just a month!

He Was Involved In A Bad Company - As great as the network marketing industry is there are some bad companies out there. Uncle Fred may have just been involved in a bad business. I understand being upset about it but you to understand that one bad apple in the bunch doesn’t represent all of MLM in general.

He Had A Bad Upline - One of the worst things someone can do in MLM is bring you into the business and then not be there to help you at all. If uncle Fred had a bad upline the chances of him succeeding are of course lowered. However, just like the last point stated just because one bad person gave him a bad taste in his mouth doesn’t mean that all of network marketing is like that. There are lots of people who will be more than happy to mentor you to success.

He Wasn’t Really Working The System - Sadly the number one reason people fail in MLM is because rather than the business failing them they fail the business! If you’re not doing what your upline tells you to do, if you’re not talking to enough people or if you’re just not trying that hard how can you ever expect to become successful?

So don’t worry about what other people say about network marketing. Just because they had a bad experience doesn’t mean you will. Network marketing is a great way to make money from home. Don’t let bitter old uncle Fred take that away from you!

Affiliate Marketing Vs. Network Marketing

Easily two of the best and most popular ways of making money from home are affiliate marketing and network marketing. Both methods can produce huge results and a lot of money for someone who knows how to do them well. So which one is the best bet for someone who wants to create a stable income from home? Here are my thoughts on the issue…

For the sake of this article I’m going to assume that you know what both of these methods are. If you need more information about either network or affiliate marketing there is a ton of information out there so be sure to check that out!

In my opinion network marketing is generally a little bit easier for the extreme internet marketing newbie. So if you’ve never really done any marketing online before that is probably going to be your best bet. Affiliate marketing requires a bit more knowledge about creating websites, creating videos, pay per click and SEO.

However, one great thing about affiliate marketing is that you don’t have to worry about training or signing anyone else up. You are simply marketing a product and that’s it. In fact you really have to talk to people very little in affiliate marketing. Network marketing is generally better for people who don’t mind getting on the phone and having a conversation with a live person.

Network marketing is also better if you want a more stable type of income. While you can have good months and bad months in affiliate marketing. Of course the better you get at affiliate marketing the more you can control how much you make each month but in general network marketing is a better option as far as stability goes since you get residual income that tends to grow rather than go up and down and up again.

Those are just some facts about affiliate marketing and network marketing. I hope that you choose the option that is best for you. Just remember that each method takes hard work and consistency but both are extremely rewarding for the business owner!

Why The Internet Is Perfect For The Shy Guy (Or Gal)

I truly believe with all my heart that the internet is the best thing that has ever happened to the modern home based business owner. Never before has working from home and building a legitimate business been so stinking easy! One of the reasons I love the internet is because you can market online for very little and sometimes for nothing at all.

This makes it a perfect fit for marketers who are just starting out and don’t have a lot of money to spend. Another thing that makes the internet so great is that it’s perfect for people who are a little (or a lot) on the shy side. So many network marketers are big, loud, type A people.

But what about the ones who want to work from home but aren’t quite so confident or aggressive? Are they a lost cause altogether? Thanks to the internet and internet marketing I say no. The shy guys have every been as much of a chance of making money from home as the type A’s do! After all why do you think internet dating sites are so popular.

It’s hard to just walk up to a guy or girl at the bar and strike up a conversation. People feel more at ease and more confident online. And that makes it perfect for marketing. Instead of tripping up on your words you can simply hit backspace or even delete. It’s just a much easier way to get your message out there.

Article marketing, video marketing, blog marketing and much more can all be created and edited by you and you alone. Then when you feel confident in the content you’re putting out there you can post it online. This is a whole lot easier than having a one on one live telephone conversation where you can easily stumble over your words or make a fool out of yourself.

Also, it’s much easier to get a prospect to go to your website than it is to get them to go to a live local meeting. (and you don’t have to put on a suit!)

So if you’re a shy guy or gal and you want to start making money from home the internet can be your lifeline and help you make a whole lot of money without embarrassing the heck out of yourself!

How To Know When Network Marketing Is Not Right For Your!

Despite what many network marketers would love for you to believe MLM really isn’t for everyone. I believe that anyone who really has the passion and desire can make money in a home based business regardless of their background, education level or their personality. However, not everyone has what it takes to build their own business from home. This article is dedicated to anyone who isn’t sure if network marketing is right for them. If you’re sitting on the fence hopefully this article will help you decide.

One of the biggest things that makes someone not right for MLM is if they can’t get out of an employee mindset. Network marketing isn’t like having a job it’s starting a business. You will be the CEO of your very own business. If you’re not ready to be your own boss and really take pride and ownership in your new business then network marketing is not right for you.

You will not have a boss looking over your shoulder, you won’t have deadlines (except the ones you make for yourself) and you won’t have a schedule that’s set in stone. For many people that can be very liberating however, for some it can be a problem. So if that doesn’t sound like something you’d like network marketing might not be right for you.

Also, if you’re the type of person who has trouble motivating themselves you might not be right for network marketing. A business owner has to have vision and passion and most importantly motivation. You don’t have a boss to MAKE you work so if you aren’t a self starter then MLM might not be best for you.

Finally, you have to be the type of person who doesn’t mind being outside the box. A network marketing company isn’t like any other job. People are going to look at you like you’re crazy sometimes but that’s just something you’ll have to learn to get over. There is nothing traditional or average about network marketing so if you’re not ok with that then a home based business is probably not right for you.

The Top Three People You Should Be Telling About Your Home Based Business But You Probably Aren’t

One of the first things most people in network marketing will tell you to do when starting a new company is to create a list of the top 50 or 100 people you know who might be interested in working from home. Sometimes we think of people but we’re hesitant to put them on the list because we don’t think they’ll be interested, we’re embarrassed or we just don’t feel like it’s our place.

Here are the top three people that you should be telling about your new home based business but you probably aren’t.

Your Parents

Many people would never dream of talking to their parents about working from home. Either because they don’t want them to know that they’re doing one of those “work at home things” or because you don’t feel that your parents would be interested. However, even if your parents have seemingly great jobs or they’re retired that doesn’t mean that they might not still want to make some extra money.

You truly never know who will be interested in working from home until you ask. And even if mom and dad don’t want to sign up it can still be a great opportunity for you to talk to them about the new business you’re a part of and why you’ve chosen to work from home.

Your Co-Workers

Ok so this one can be tricky, you don’t exactly want to go blabbing all around the work place about how much you hate your job and what you’re doing to be able to quit it. However, if you’re close to some of the people you work with (and if your boss isn’t around) it’s perfectly acceptable to tell them about your new opportunity. Hey, you want to quit… they probably do too!

People At Church

This can sort of be awkward but it really doesn’t have to be. Talking about business with people you go to church with doesn’t have to be something strange. Just keep it casual and make sure they know that it’s ok if they say no. As long as you don’t make it awkward they probably won’t either.

Don’t miss out on an opportunity to make money just because you’re afraid of talking to someone about your home based business. If you have an opportunity to change your life you have an obligation to tell the people you love about it.

Is Myspace Still The Best Social Network For Marketing Your Home Based Business?

When Myspace was first introduced it started with the kids and very quickly it became a great tool for building and marketing your home based business. Almost every marketer online had at lease one free Myspace page and many had several of them. However, with so many other social networking sites out there becoming popular is Myspace really still a good option when choosing a site to market with? Or should you spend your time marketing somewhere else?

The good things about Myspace are clear. First of all it’s free which that in it’s self is pretty powerful. You can have as many Myspace pages as you have email addresses! Secondly Myspace isn’t shy about people marketing their businesses or products on their pages.

They pretty much let you do whatever you want. Unlike other social networking sites that limit ads or links. And finally they’re still a top rated site so millions of people are still on Myspace every single day. Many of them are probably looking for a business just like yours!

Then there are some not so great things about the popular site. Namely the fact that Myspace is steadily losing popularity every day to the likes of Facebook and even Twitter. Also it’s not so good with showing your friends what you’re doing on your page. So prospects have to go to your actual page to see updates instead of having it show up on their home page.

Still even with those downfalls Myspace is still a great site and one that all marketers should be using. Even if it isn’t your top priority when it comes to social networking. I mean if a website is highly ranked and it’s free why wouldn’t you use it? It just seems a little silly not to.

So in conclusion, yes, you should still be using Myspace to market your home based business. In many aspects Twitter or Facebook can be more effective and perhaps that’s why more marketers have switched over to them but Myspace is not to be overlooked. It can still be a powerful resource for your business.

Does It Really Take Money To Make Money In MLM?

If you’re thinking about becoming involved in a home based business or network marketing company you might be wondering if it’s really possible to make a lot of money if you have very little to invest. A lot of people subscribe to the theory that it takes money to make money and that if you don’t have a lot of money to spend you’re just out of luck! But is that really true? Do you really have to spend a lot of money each month in order to become truly successful working from home? Here is why my answer is no.

I’m not going to lie to you. Money is always helpful. When you have money you can take some short cuts that other people might not be able to afford to take. Such as hiring people to pass out flyers door to door for you, buying hundreds of dollars worth of leads to call each month or spending tons of money with pay per click.

However, it is completely possible to build a profitable and extremely rewarding business from home even if you don’t have $50 a month to spend on marketing.

The internet has done some great things for network marketers. Marketing online is almost completely free and it’s so easy that anyone can learn to do it. Yes there is PPC which costs money but it goes way, way, way beyond that. In fact I don’t recommend people do PPC until they’re making at least $1000 a month from their business and even then you still might not want to use it.

True internet marketing is free and it is the MLM newbie’s best friend!

Also, don’t under estimate the fact that talking is free! So talk to your friends, talk to your family, heck talk to the guy in line with you at the bank! You never know who might be interested in working from home.

So now you know the truth. You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on marketing each month in order to create wealth from a home based business. Now that you know the truth you don’t have to use that as an excuse not to get started.

MLM: Do You Have A 5 Figure Only Mindset

So many articles about MLM or network marketing are written about mindset. That’s because when you’re building a business nothing can be more important than what’s between your ears. Your mind can either push you on to greatness or hold you back in a serious way.

In this article I want to talk about your income potential. Do you believe that you’re worthy of making 6 or even 7 figures from home? Or are you like the millions of other people who believe they’re only ever going to be 5 figure earners?

There really isn’t anything wrong with setting a goal in the 5 figures. After all if you’re making 20, 30 or even 40 grand a year making 50, 60 or 70 thousand is a good place to start. However, what’s so great about network marketing is that the earning potential is truly limitless. If you knew you were capable of making $100,000 a year there is no way you would set your goal for just $50,000.

Once you are able to wrap your head around the idea of making a huge amount of money from home you will be able to achieve it. It’s been said that if you can dream it you can do it and I believe that that’s true. So if you aren’t in a place where you can really imagine yourself making that kind of money you’re never going to get there.

I encourage you to dream the way you use to when you were a kid. Think about what it is that you really want. Whatever it is that you want a home based business can help you reach that goal and even exceed it.

That’s right, go a head and re-read that sentence. “How can that be” you say? Well sit back and I’ll tell you exactly how and why that’s true.

He Has Focus

When a dog wants a treat, toy or a walk he has total and complete focus. He’s not concerted with anything else and he doesn’t let himself get distracted. There is so much going on in our minds that sometimes we just flat out lack the focus it takes to really be successful in building a business. So tell the kids to go play in their rooms, turn off the tv, sit in a comfy chair and really get down to business every once in a while! No distractions from what you really want out of life.

He Knows When To Relax

If a dog is tired he’s gonna take a nap. Dogs never work themselves in to a frenzy over something silly like a deadline. Sometimes if we want to be successful we have got to learn to chill out! A rested mind is a productive mind. So chill on the couch for an hour, take a nap or just get to bed earlier. You can’t work ALL THE TIME!

If a dog needs to go outside, he’ll tell you! If a dog needs food, he’ll tell you! And if a dog wants to play you’ll defiantly know. Sometimes we’re not as successful as we could be because we’re just flat out too afraid to ask for what we want. Whether it’s a referral, a sale, or for someone to come to a meeting. If you’re not clear about what you need from someone you’re going to end up not getting anything. So be clear about what you need if someone turns you down that’s fine but at least you had the courage to ask for what you really want!

So, I bet after this article you’ll never look at ol’ Fido the same way ever again. Just know that behind all that drool there is a very shrewd business man.

Your Job Is The Ultimate Pyramid Scheme!

If you have a job and you hate the idea of network marketing or even worse one of those “pyramid schemes” I have some really scary news for you… your job is a big giant pyramid scheme and guess what, you’re never going to make it to the top!

You say “what do you mean?” “you don’t know anything about my job!” and it’s true I don’t. But I don’t have to!

All traditional jobs are structured just like a pyramid scheme. Sure they may not be illegal but the way they’re set up is just the same.

You have your boss, and your boss’ boss, and his boss, and the guy above him and all the way to the top it goes!

Guess how much the guy at the top of the pyramid is making?

Well the truth is I have no idea… but I know it’s a whole lot more than you!

There are limited spaces at the top and chances are you can work hard your entire life and never even come close to the tip top of that pyramid.

Doesn’t that sound like a pyramid scheme to you?

You have a better shot at becoming a millionaire in a network marketing company than you do at ever reaching the top of your jobs pyramid!

So tell me why it is that everyone sees a home based business as so much of a gamble? Can you explain it? I can’t either!

Build a respectable, profitable, exciting and totally legal business from home and stop making your boss rich! You’ve been working for him for a while now and you’re not rich yet are you? Why not do something for yourself for a change.

Fear of failure is a very common thing. Almost all people are afraid of failing on some level. However, the people I am talking about are the people who let their fear cripple them to the point where they don’t do anything at all. They are afraid to take a risk in any capacity because they are afraid if they do they will fail. This type of fear will never allow you to accomplish anything wonderful in your life. It will stop you every chance it gets. That’s why you have to stop IT first.

How To Overcome It!

Unfortunately there really is no easy way to face this type of fear. The only think you can really do is stare fear in the eyes and do whatever it is your afraid to do anyway. You also have to give yourself permission to mess up from time to time. Just because you don’t sign up the first few people you talk to doesn’t mean you’re a failure. In fact the only way you can really fail is if you give up and quit. If you refuse to do that failing is just not an option at all!

Fear Of Success

Nobody in their right mind would really honestly believe that they are afraid of success however many people truly are. People place all kinds of limitations on themselves. Many people believe that they will only ever be able to make $40,000 or $50,000 a year and so the idea of exceeding that scares them a bit. I know it sounds crazy but it’s really much more common than we’d like to believe.

How To Overcome It!

Realize that you have no limitations except the ones you put on yourself. If you put your ceiling at $75,000 how do you ever expect to make it to $100,000? You can’t… it’s impossible. But, as soon as you raise that ceiling and give yourself permission to be excellent you will be!

Don’t let fear control your life and your business anymore. Gain control from fear and doubt and your business will be much more likely to succeed!

There has never been a better time in all of history in get involved in a network marketing company. So if you’ve been dreaming about working from home for a long time now but you’ve never gotten around to making it happen you’re reading the right article at the right time!

The economy is in the gutter and even though our government and president Obama are working hard to fix it things just aren’t going to happen fast enough for some people. People are still losing their jobs, losing their homes and having to downsize in a major way.

Even if you have a job that is stable what would happen if you lost it tomorrow? Or think of this… how much better would your life be if you could bring in an extra $1000 every month. We’re not talking about making huge amounts of money just enough to help you get through this tough time in American history.

The wide range of products and services that you can market are a huge bonus as well. It use to be that network marketing companies products were kind of lame. They were the types of things that might be neat to have but weren’t really recession proof. Today you can marketing literally anything you want. And products like health benefits and electricity will continue to be bought even if the economy gets even worse!

The security that you will feel when you know that you’re able to provide for your family no matter what happens with your job is priceless. When you work from home you can never be fired… ever! You are your own boss and let me tell you it’s awesome!

Finally, this is a great time for network marketing because these days you are able to build your business online. Online marketing makes building a business easier and more streamline. It can also be incredibly inexpensive!

If you’re involved in multi level marketing you’re going to hear the word know more than once in a while. Rejection is a natural part of this type of business and it has nothing to do with you. Everyone no matter who they are or how good they may be will get rejected so don’t let it eat you up! Sometimes if you’re getting rejected a lot you might get tired of saying the same old thing so here are the top 3 best comebacks to a harsh rejection!

1. Oh I wasn’t talking to you. I was talking to the guy behind you!

When someone turns you down don’t get embarrassed. Just pretend like you were talking to the guy behind them. Think about how embarrassed they’ll be once they realize that you weren’t even talking to them in the first place. Sure you were looking them in the eyes the whole time and even calling them by name but if they reject you just act like you were never even talking to them in the first place.

2. That’s ok I was just practicing on you for the really good prospects

Sure it’s a little rude and sure they may have been your very best prospect ever. However, when you use this little gem they’ll think twice about just how many prospects you actually have. Nothing changes peoples minds more than when they feel like they’re missing out on something. And they will feel like they’re missing out of something when they think you have a ton of other prospects waiting in the wings.

3. Ok, I’ll give you a follow up call in 6 months from my yacht

Alright so maybe you don’t have a yacht. However, this really gets people thinking about what they’re saying no to.

In case you didn’t know these are mostly meant for humor. However, the truth still remains that everyone in network marketing at one point or another is going to face rejection. Just keep on going, don’t let it stop you and remember that it’s not your fault!

Should You Only Try To Recruit People Just Like You?

One of the most effective way to market a home based business is to find a really tight niche and work that niche to death. In other words instead of trying to recruit anyone and everyone you come into contact with only try to recruit the people who fall within your specific niche.

Often times your niche is based off of who you personally are. If you’re a teacher for example chances are you know a lot of other teachers. If you’re a college student you should probably be targeting other college students and if you’re a stay at home mom you might way to be talking to other stay at home moms.

This is because people always feel more comfortable talking to people that remind them of themselves. A 22 year old girl might find it hard to relate to a 45 year old business man with a wife and two kids but she can easily strike up a conversation with a woman who she shares a lot of her same interests.

So this is why some people believe that it’s smart to only truly try to recruit people who are a lot like themselves or at least people that fall into their niche.

But is that really a good idea? Shouldn’t we be talking to anyone and everyone about our work from home opportunity?

I have come to believe that a well defined niche can be much more profitable than a really big and broad approach. I don’t believe that you should keep your business a secret from someone who wants more information about it just because they don’t fall within your target audience. However, I do believe in putting most of your time and effort into working that niche and getting as much as you can out of it before you start to look outside of it.

I have known women who have built their entire teams using just stay at home moms. These women now earn in the 6 figures and it’s all because they found a need in a certain group of people and they met that need!
