Are You A Prisoner Of Your Own Mind? How You Can Be Set Free!

Tata/MDI CAT compressed air carImage via Wikipedia

Are you a prisoner? Are you trapped in a cage, limited and only given enough to keep you alive but never really allow you to LIVE? What am I talking about you ask? What I’m asking is…. Are you a prisoner of your own mind?

Are you confused? Let me explain. So many people are trapped by their own mind. They don’t know the power that they yield. They don’t know that if they would just unlock the door to their mind they could accomplish just about anything! Are you a prisoner of your mind? Have you limited yourself so much that you wouldn’t be able to reach success even if it was right in front of you?

Believe it or not tons of people want success but won’t allow themselves to have it. That’s because they’ve already decided that they either aren’t worthy of it or they’ll just never get there.

If you’ve become trapped in your own mind you need to get the key and unlock yourself! You don’t have to be limited to $30,000 a year. You don’t have to be “just getting by”. You can live an amazing life filled with everything you could ever dream of.

All you need to live this amazing life is a mindset shift and a home based business. The home based business is going to be your vehicle to an amazing life and your mindset shift is going to be your fuel. If you want to have an amazing life all you need is those two things are you’re set.

Have you even wanted to drive a certain car, live in a certain home, or make a certain amount but your mind has stopped you from believing it’s possible? If so I’m sorry to say that you are totally a prisoner of your own mind.

The only difference between people who succeed and the people who fail is their mindset. So don’t hold yourself back anymore! Unlock yourself and start living a better life immediately. A home based business can help you get there but it is your own mindset that will really make it happen!

In MLM Is Honesty Really The Best Policy? What You Should And Shouldn’t Tell Your Prospects!

School bannerImage via Wikipedia

Is it really a good idea to tell your prospects the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God? There are a lot of good points to be made here. Some people say that you shouldn’t tell your prospects the truth on every single aspect of your business and some people think you should. Here is why I say it’s important to be 100% honest about your home based business but that doesn’t mean you have to tell people everything. Let me explain…

I don’t really ever believe that lying could ever help your business. When people ask me if building a business from home is going to be a lot of work I say yes, because it’s true. I would never lie to a prospect because I believe that once you lie and you’re caught in that lie your credibility is shot forever. Plus it’s just not the right thing to do.

However, that being said I believe that sometimes we as network marketers tend to say way too much and that can hurt our business. There are things that a regular prospect just doesn’t need to know. They don’t need to know what percent commission you make on level 3. They don’t need to know every single detail about the products. That doesn’t mean that if they ask you you shouldn’t tell them it just means that it shouldn’t be a part of your average pitch.

Are you starting to see the difference. Tell people the truth when they ask but be careful not to say way too much when it’s not necessary. I have walked by as people have been explaining a business to a prospect and let me tell you when you start saying way too much you’re just going to confuse the person even more. Give them a brief overview of what the business is all about and answer any questions that they might have without giving them way too much info at once!

So, is honesty the best policy in network marketing? Yes!

Why If You Have A Job You’re Dumber Than Paris Hilton… Yes I’m Serious!

Paris Hilton at the 2007 Scream Awards.Image via Wikipedia

When you think about the great minds of our time the name Paris Hilton doesn’t exactly come to mind. Perhaps you’ve even made fun of her yourself. However, if you have a job you’re even dumber than she is!

You say “WHAT!?!”

But it’s totally true. And I’m about to show you the top 4 things that Paris Hilton knows that you don’t. And I’m not talking about how to make a sex tape in night vision.

1. She doesn’t pretend to be anyone she’s not

You don’t have to be Donald Trump to be a strong business person. Too often we try to be other people and we forget that the best thing we can be is ourselves! Don’t be fake, just be the best version of you!

2. She knows how to brand herself

Every time Paris Hilton goes to a club, takes a paparazzi picture or does a reality show it only helps the Paris Hilton brand. Even if it’s something small she has branded herself in a way that she can make money just by doing things she would already be doing. When you brand yourself everything you do online helps your brand make more money and get more popularity. So become a brand not just a person.

3. She knows that being talked about is always better than being ignored

Paris Hilton is a spectacle and a lot of times people are talking about her negatively but hey… at least their talking about you. Whoever said that all press is good press was totally on the money. If you want to be successful you gotta put yourself out there. Some people will cheer and some will laugh but it’s better to be noticed (or even laughed at) than to be totally ignored!

4. She keeps on going no matter what

How many times do we let one little rejection stand in the way of picking up the phone again? I’ve known people to quit their businesses just because they’re 65 year old mother tells them it’s stupid. Why do we let silly little things like this totally derail us? If you want to be successful you have to keep on going no matter how much rejection or ridicule you have to deal with along the way. Soon you’ll find yourself laughing all the way to the bank!

So what do you say… are you dumber than Paris Hilton? If not find out more about starting a home based business today.

Tips For Writing Better, More Effective Home Based Business Articles And Blogs

NEW YORK - JUNE 02: (R) Writer Fran Lebowitz ...Image by Getty Images via Daylife

Writing articles for your home based business is a great way to get more sign ups and just get the word out more about your business. However, if you’re not a naturally born writer you might feel like this is something that you can’t do. If you’re a little bit nervous about writing your own articles here are a few tips that have really helped me write better articles. These tips can also be used to help you write better, more effective blog posts as well.

1. Write down your inspiration

A good writer knows that inspiration comes at all different times and can come from pretty much anywhere. So it’s a good idea to keep a notebook with you so that when an idea for a really good article comes to mind you can write it down and remember it!

2. When in doubt be comical

Serious articles are good but sometimes if you really want to catch people’s attention you need to be funny. So if humor is your strong suit try writing a funny article that will also get people thinking!

3. Use eye catching themes

When you’re on an article directory there are a lot of boring titles. So try titling your articles with fun eye catching titles and using interesting themes. It will help you stand out from the norm and people are more likely to read what you have to say!

4. Read other articles

Of course you never steal things from other writers. However, sometimes just reading what other people have written will help you to get your own inspirational juices flowing. Also, watching videos from other home based business owners can be really good too. Sometimes it only takes one really good statement to get a great idea for an article in your head.

5. Keep it personal

People like stories about real people. So if you’re unable to think of a good topic for an article try just telling a portion of your story. Perhaps a struggle you had and how you moved on from it.

6. Don’t stress out!

If you’re stressed of it will be really hard to write a good article. So relax, maybe go watch a funny tv show and then come back and write something.

7. Use PLR

If you absolutely can’t write, or you don’t have the time there are always home based business plr articles that will allow you to pass these pre-written articles off as your own!

Article writing can be a great thing for your business. Use these tips and you’ll be on your way to a lot more success with online marketing.

7 Things That Will Destroy Your Home Based Business That You Might Not Even Know You’re Doing!

eros bendatoImage by jesuscm via Flickr

Nobody would sabotage their home based business on purpose! However sometimes we can do things that we don’t even realize are hurting our business! Here are my top 7 things that can really hurt your home based business that you might not even know you’re doing. Just remember that if you are doing any of these things it’s never too late to stop!

1. Not talking to your family or friends about your business

People can sometimes be freaked out about telling their friends or family about their home based business. However, if you don’t tell the people around you about your new business it can seem like you’re hiding something or that you’re ashamed of your business and that can do you a whole lot more harm than good. Don’t bug your friends or family but at least tell them about it and let them decide for themselves!

2. Not setting your goals high enough or not setting goals at all!

If you don’t have goals (or you do but they’re too small) how do you ever expect to get where you want to go. Every big business has goals that they want to meet in a weekly, monthly and yearly time period. You should have the same for your home based business. And don’t just have them in your head. Write them down!

3. Making jokes that belittle you or your business

Sometimes when you’re uncomfortable about something you tend to mock it in a joking way. However, that can actually really hurt your business. You want people to take you seriously, even if it’s just friends and family. So don’t make jobs that could belittle you or your new business.

4. Slamming other companies

Everyone thinks that their home based business is the best. However, when you bash other network marketing companies you bash the entire industry. Half the battle is getting the general public to accept network marketing as a legitimate form of business. So when you bash another company you actually hurt your own.

5. Spending too much time on forums or social networking sites

MLM forums, Facebook or Twitter can all be great places to market your business and learn some things along the way. Just be careful that you’re not wasting time when you could be doing something else. These things can be awesome but they can also waste a lot of your time if you let them. So don’t get sucked in!

6. Not setting business hours or a schedule

Just because you work from home doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have some structure! You need that if you want to run a profitable and successful business. Maybe once you’ve reached your goals you can be more lax but in the beginning you should have a schedule laid out for yourself to help keep you on track!

7. Putting up a front about your success

You don’t have to pretend that you never have problems in your business. Being vulnerable makes you more human. It’s ok if you mess up from time to time. Try not to present yourself or your business as perfect because that is a big red flag for people.

What Is Your Job Taking Away From You?

panorama desde un globoImage by jesuscm via Flickr

I believe that too much respect is given to the almighty job. People treat having a job like having a huge lump of solid gold. But the truth is that I don’t believe having a job is really that great. Sure it gives you money and we all need that. But what else is it giving to you? Or perhaps a more important question would be how much is it taking away from you?

You say, “taking away from me… my job never took anything away from me”.

Oh but you would be wrong. Jobs are thieves and they take away much more than they actually give. Now I’m not saying that you should call your boss right now and tell him that you quit. However, I do think you should start thinking about a better alternative to a job. Something that will give you more money than your job right now and will never take away anything from you. Something called a home based business.

In case you’re still wondering what your job has taken from you let me give you a few examples.

Have you ever…

Missed your child’s school play?
Come home to a cold dinner because you had to work late?
Not been able to make it to family Christmas because of work?
Missed your son’s first little league game?
Not been able to pay for your daughters college?
Not taken a vacation with your spouse for over a year?
Driven a car that barely works because you can’t afford a new one?

If you answered yes to any of these your job HAS stolen something from you. Also, keep in mind that these are just a few examples. This list could literally go on and on and on….

I’m sure that if you really started thinking you could think of a whole lot more!

Why do we give jobs so much credit? And more importantly why do we let me rule our lives? What has your job stolen from you this year?

If you’re sick and tired of letting your job control your life get more information about starting a home based business. You can work when you want to, play when you want to, you’ll never have to miss another important even in your family’s lives again!

Stop Being A Victim Of The Economy! Take Control Of Your Life Now!

ubiquitousImage by horizontal.integration via Flickr

It seems like these days the economy is on everyone’s minds. People are looking to the president right now and desperately want him to fix the problem with our economy. Now I’m not saying that a boost in the economy wouldn’t be nice but if you really want to make more money, feel secure and live a better life you need to stop looking at Obama and start looking at yourself. This is America the land of opportunity, and if you want a better life you’d better go get it!

It seems like people are looking to the government for more and more these days. However, the real winners in this world don’t look to the government they look within themselves. There are so many great opportunities out there if you are really looking for them.

America is set up with two different types of people. The employees and the business owners. And if you fall into the employee category you’re at the mercy of the economy, your boss, and probably lots of other people. When you’re a business owner you are able to take a lot more control over your life. You know that if you want to make more money all you have to do is work harder and you can make it happen. When you have a job you work harder and maybe, MAYBE you’ll get a raise. Although, the chances of that are very slim!

I have already made the decision that I don’t want to be a slave to the economy, the government or my job. What about you? How much more free could you be if you decided to take control of your life by becoming a business owner instead of an employee.

The government can’t fix your problems, it’s true. Even if the economy gets better when you have a job you’re still going to be dealing with the same old problems. Too much month and not enough paycheck. Too many things you want to do and not enough time to do it in! When you work for yourself you can do what you want, when you want, and actually have the money to do it!

Stop being a victim of the economy and take control of your life this year! You don’t have to be a slave to your tiny paycheck anymore!

Are You Building Your Home Based Business With Integrity?

National Small Business Week Day 1Image by ShashiBellamkonda via Flickr

The words integrity and business don’t always seem to go together. But they should! So I ask you…. Are you building your home based business with integrity?

Business can be a pretty cut throat environment. After all when it comes to people’s money things tend to get pretty nasty. People seem to have the opinion that if you want to be really successful in business you have to be a little sneaky or selfish. However, it is totally possible to grow your home based business with integrity. And once you start you’ll realize that it will actually help your business! Yes it’s true! Here are 4 ways that you can begin to build your business with more integrity and start making more money in the process!

1. Do what you say you’re going to do

This might seem pretty simple but you would be shocked at the amount of people who bring someone into their business with promises of help and guidance and then totally ignore the person one they sign up! When you do this you hurt your new business partner and you also hurt yourself and your business. If you say you’re going to do something… do it!

2. Don’t sugar coat things

Building a home based business can be really hard. So don’t lie and make it seem like it will be a walk in the park. People appreciate honesty. Plus, if you tell people the truth they can’t blame you down the road when they realize it’s not super easy.

Don’t do people the disservice of telling them that they can build a business from home and not put any effort into it. Be honest about the hard work and effort it really takes.

3. Don’t work with dishonest people

Who you choose to work with says a lot about you. Even if you’re really honest it won’t matter if you work with dishonest people. Don’t allow dishonest people to hurt your reputation. Choose to work with people who have integrity and are honest and it will reflect on you.

4. Do things that don’t benefit you at all

Sometimes being a great leader means doing things for the people on your team that don’t benefit you at all. If that means spending 2 hours on the phone with someone who is upset do it! If that means helping someone who isn’t even on your team do it! When people see that that’s the kind of person you really are it will only help your business, never hurt it!

If you start building your business with more integrity you will be more respected and good things will come your way sooner. You don’t have to be selfish and dishonest to get ahead in the business world. Give these things a try and you’ll see for yourself!

The Difference Between Sorting And Selling In Your Home Based Business

Alice in Wonderland - If I had a World of my o...Image by Brandon Christopher Warren via Flickr

A lot of people believe that if you want to be successful in a home based business you have to be an expert sales person. I’ve even had people tell me that they’re going to be great in a particular business because they have “tons of sales experience”. Well the truth is that network marketing really isn’t about selling at all. It’s actually about sorting. Sorting what you ask? Sorting people. Allow me to explain.

So what do I mean by sorting people? Well what professionals and people who are extremely successful in network marketing do is tell people about an opportunity and then back away. They don’t try to sell people on anything. They don’t bug their friends and family to death. They just tell people about an opportunity and then sort them into a category. Either “yes”, “no” or “not right now”.

Professionals know that it doesn’t matter what category people fall into. It’s ok to be in the “no” box as long as you have heard the message it’s totally up to you. Successful network marketers simply tell as many people as possible about what they do and then back away, no pressure, no big fancy pitch it’s either “yes”, “no” or “not right now”.

This approach is so great because it takes all of the pressure off of the person you’re talking to. They won’t feel like if they don’t sign up you’ll be mad a them or whatever. It will also take the pressure off of you. You don’t have to make everyone fall into the “yes” category. Only the people who really want it will say yes and as long as you’ve presented the opportunity to them it doesn’t matter what they say. The pressure is totally off of you.

The bottom line is that people hate to be sold on things! They hate it! So don’t be an annoying sales person. Sort rather than sell and you won’t be “that annoying person who’s trying to get me into a business” that everyone can’t stand. (nobody likes that guy!)

Why Your Motto Should Always Be: Progress Not Perfection!

WASHINGTON - MAY 19: U.S. President Barack Ob...Image by Getty Images via Daylife

When you’re trying to reach a goal in your home based business you might feel like you have to do everything right all the time. However, you don’t have to be perfect all the time to have huge success working from home. One of the things you need to focus on is progress… not perfection.

Perfection means that you never get to make a mistake and if you do you beat yourself up about it again and again. Progress means that you get up every day and try and make yourself just a little bit better than yesterday. When you’re trying to lose weight you can’t just go from eating like crap to eating perfectly healthy all the time.

If you try to do that you will eventually fail. What you need to do is first take out the fried food. Then once you’ve done that you can eliminate soda, then after that you can limit your soda. If you do this before you know it you’ll be much healthier and because you did it gradually you’ll get to keep your sanity. This is the approach that we need to take to building our home based business.

You need to take baby steps each and every day to get better and better at your business. You’re going to mess up along the way. You’re going to have days when you feel like you aren’t doing anything right. You’re going to have times when you think you’re so far away from your goal that you’ll never get there. But if you’re taking one day at a time and working on small things you can do to improve along the way you’ll be much happier and you’ll get a whole lot more accomplished.

Maybe you need to work on feeling more confident on the phone, maybe you need to work on better time management, maybe you need to learn how to market online. Whatever you’re struggling with or working on simply take baby steps each and every day that bring you just a little bit closer to where you want to end up. Mistakes will be made along the way, you’re never going to be perfect.

Just remember when you’re building your home based business. It’s progress…. not perfection that will get you to your ultimate goal!

Why You Should Chronicle Your Home Based Business Journey, Good Or Bad!

Picture taken of the atomic bombing of Nagasak...Image via Wikipedia

A lot of people in a home based business want to start at the beginning of their journey and hop straight to the end! But what we forget is that the steps in between A-Z are important and they can give others a whole lot of inspiration. That’s why it’s so important to be real and chronicle our home based business journey both good and bad! Here is why!

1. It can help people!

When you go to a home based business meeting as a new person or prospect and you can tend to look at all of those success stories as a little unbelievable. After all, there are only so many stories you can hear about someone being dead broke and now being incredibly rich before you start to believe that A) these stories can’t be real or B) I could never do anything like that!

When you leave out the middle part of your testimony you leave out a whole lot! People need to know that you’re a human being. They need to know that you struggled, that you doubted yourself, that you thought about quitting at times. It is stories like that that make where you ended up that much more impressive and real!

People will look at your story and say. Hey, if this person doubted themselves but still made $100,000 a year so can I!

By being honest about all the things that happened during your journey to success you’ll stop being a testimony and start being a real person and that will really inspire people!

2. It can help you!

Along with helping others with your story you can also help yourself by chronicling your journey to success. Being able to look back to where you started will help you see how far you’ve really come! Even if you’re not at your goal yet you’ll be able to see all the bumps in the road you’ve encountered and how you’ve been able to overcome each and every one of them!

3. It keeps things in perspective!

Now lets jump ahead to when you’ve reached your ultimate goal and you’re incredibly successful (because you know you’re gonna get there!) Having your story written out for you to look at will help you help others who might be going through the same struggles that you already conquered. Sometimes when we reach our goals we forget how hard it is when someone is still trying to do so. This will help you keep things in perspective and remember just how hard it was when you were trying to reach all of your goals! It will help you be a much better team leader.

Why Your Home Based Business Is So Simple A 5 year Old Could Do It!

Tomb effigy of JohnImage via Wikipedia

There are a lot of books, a lot of articles, a lot of methods out there about how to make your home based business really successful. However, sometimes we overcomplicate it to the point that we forget just how easy it really is. Sure there are always things we can learn about how to work from home but really at the end of the day building a home based business is so simple a 5 year old could do it! Here are three reasons why!

1. A 5 Year Old Will Talk To Anyone!

If you’ve ever been around a small child you know that they don’t usually get intimidated by anyone. If you’re around them they’ll talk to you. They’ll talk to the woman in line at the grocery store, they’ll talk to the mailman, they’d talk to the queen of England if she came over for a visit!

If we were more like a small child we wouldn’t be so intimidated by people and so afraid to talk to the people around us about our business.

After all if you talk to someone and they’re rude to you that’s their problem not yours. Obviously I’m not saying you should just start jabbering on to anyone and everyone you come into contact with. But being a little bit more bold and little bit more confident wouldn’t hurt anyone!

2. A 5 Year Old Is Persistent!

Have you ever been around a child who wants a piece of candy or a new toy. They won’t stop until they get it! Even if it means causing a scene. I child will do just about anything if they really want something. As adults sometimes we’re too quick to give up on what we really want out of life! Fight for the things that are important to you. Don’t stop until your dreams come true!

3. A 5 Year Old Will Tell You If They Like Something!

Network marketing in it’s very simplest for is simply telling as many people as you can about something that’s made your life better. Whether it’s a company that changed your life for a product that’s made your life easier. So why are we so afraid to tell people about a good thing? A 5 year old wouldn’t be. If they got a great new toy for their birthday you better believe you’re going to hear about it!

How To Crank Up The Volume On Your Home Based Business Success!

Temple of HeavenImage via Wikipedia

If you’ve experienced a little bit of success in your home based business that is great! You should be commended. However, if you want to know how to really crank up the volume on your home based business and push it over the edge this article is for you! In this article I’m going to give you 5 tips that will help you send your home based business to the next level. From moderate success to massive success in a really short period of time. Try doing each one of these 5 things each and every week for optimal results!

1. Call 10 extra people

If you’re a fan of calling leads from a list you might have a set number of people that you contact each and everyday. So whatever that number is add 10 more people to your list for the day. It might seem like going from 50 calls to 60 a day won’t make that much difference but it could be all you need to get a little boost that could set your whole business on fire. You don’t have to do this every day, maybe just once a week but the more you do it the better! And really what’s an extra 10 people in the grand scheme of things?

2. Work 30 minutes extra

This sort of goes along with number one but even if you’re not making phone calls try working just a half hour more each day (or as many days as you can!) A lot can happen in 30 minutes believe it or not. So write one more article, send a couple more emails, or just spend that extra 30 minutes organizing things for tomorrow so that you can get to work sooner!

3. Talk to the person you’ve been avoiding

Most network marketers know that one person that they think would be great in the business but they’re just too scared or shy to talk to them about it. DO IT! It’s never as bad as you make it out in your head and who knows, they might say no, or they might be your rock star!

4. Order takeout one night a week

Ok so ordering pizza or Chinese might not be the most healthy but if you just do it one night a week you can save time that you might normally spend cooking dinner and use that time to work on your business! Plus if you have kids they’ll love it!

5. Make one crazy you tube video

Take a chance with video marketing. Break out of the boring video rut and make one really crazy, really out there you tube video. People might laugh at you but you’ll get lots of attention and sometimes that’s all it takes!

Stop Playing The Blame Game And Start Making More Money!

If you’ve been in a home based business for a while now and you’re still not having the success you want it can be easy to blame others. However, once we stop blaming others and start looking deeper into ourselves we see that the only people who are in charge of our lives and our businesses are us! When you stop playing the blame game then and only then will you truly start to make money and see more success in your home based business.

Here are a list of a few people who we tend to blame for our failures…

We blame… our upline!

When we’re not seeing enough success in our business one of the easiest people to blame can be the person who brought you into the business. We have a tendency to believe that since they introduced us to the business it should be their full time job to make sure that we succeed.

However, when you really think about it. You are the CEO of your own business! It’s your job and your job alone to make sure that your business succeeds. Of course they should be there to help you but even if they aren’t… it’s YOUR business and your business alone. Take ownership of it!

We blame… our boss!

Sometimes when we’re trying to build a business while keeping a full time job it can seem like we just don’t have time to do it all. What you have to remember is that your boss is a business person just like you are. And they have to take care of their business. Yes it stinks when it makes you work late again but he has to be in charge of his own business just like you have to take charge of yours.

We blame… our spouse!

When things aren’t going so great your spouse or boyfriend or girlfriend can be one of the easiest scapegoats. Don’t blame the important people in your life for the failures in your business. It can be hard to have an unsupportive spouse but you should be working that much harder to prove them wrong and make them a believer! A business isn’t worth having tension between you and your spouse!

We blame… ourselves!

But you say wait, I thought you said we should blame ourselves?! No, I said you should look deeper at yourself. Blaming yourself is a totally different thing. If you’ve had failures in your past you have to let that go if you want to have success in your future. Stop beating yourself up over every little thing! Examine yourself but don’t blame yourself for every little thing that goes wrong. No good will ever come of it!

Quit playing the blame game and start out on the path to true success in your home based business!

How To Build A Home Based Business, Even If You’re Painfully Shy

GoldilocksImage by ...-Wink is awaiting inspiration-... via Flickr

Whenever I talk to people about joining a home based business I usually run across a few people who don’t think thy can succeed because they are the super outgoing type A personality. Well I’m here to tell you that you can make a ton of money in a home based business and change your life forever even if your painfully shy! I know it’s sounds crazy. After all network marketing is all about talking to people however, with the help of online marketing you don’t have to be extremely outgoing to have a ton of success working from home.

Online marketing is the perfect way to market your home based business for a huge number of reasons. But, in this article I want to talk about the benefits of online marketing for people who are too shy to do it in person.

We’ve all seen those super type A personalities who can talk to someone in the middle of the super market and somehow be so great with their words that the person ends up signing up right on the spot. I certainly am not one of those people and I don’t think many other people are either. But it is those people who can discourage average people like me and you. You watch them and you think “well I can’t do that so I won’t ever be successful in this business”.

This is where internet marketing comes into play. When you market your home based business online you don’t have to talk to prospects live. Well, at least not until they’re really interested and almost ready to sign up. Of course you will have to speak to people over the phone at least but not nearly as much as people who do all of their marketing in person.

The internet allows you to say what you want to say and still be able to go back and edit it. As I type this article if I’m not happy with the words I’m using I can always go back and re-do them. That’s something that you can’t do when you’re doing a live one on one meeting. And that’s one of the reasons why people tend to be really hesitant to talk about their business in person. Once you way it it’s out there! That’s not true with online marketing. There is always time to go back and edit so that what you say is just right!

Online marketing is truly perfect for the shy person who wants to build a business from home but isn’t 100% comfortable talking to people in person or initiating a conversation in real life. Internet marketing has made it possible for anyone on earth to be incredibly successful working from home!

Should You Make A Vision Board For Your Home Based Business?

So many of the articles I’ve written lately seem to be focused on motivation and mindset. That’s because in a home based business there is perhaps nothing that is more important. Motivation can be the difference between huge success and moderate success. It can also be the difference between success and failure.

If you’ve seen the dvd “The Secret” you know that they advocate people putting up visual images of the things they want and desire. They claim that by putting those things out in the universe they will eventually come to you. I don’t believe that. However, I do believe that giving yourself something visual to motivate you can have a huge impact of how you live your life from day to day.

By putting visual reminders up in places where you will see them everyday like a bathroom mirror, a car visor, an office, or on your bedroom door you’ll never be short on motivation and you’ll never forget what you really want out of life.

That’s why I believe that if you’re a home based business owner (or just someone looking for more success in their lives) you should have a vision board.

A vision board is simply a compellation of pictures, phrases and visual illustrations of anything you want. People have vision boards for weight loss, business, or personal relationships. You can use personal pictures of yourself as well as articles, pictures and short phrases from magazines, books, newspapers and online.

By putting this collage of things in a place where you’ll be sure to see it everyday it will keep you much more on track. Many people like to put their vision boards on cork board or a poster board so that they can move it to anyplace they need it. From the bedroom to the home office to the kitchen! Also, if you put it on something you can move you can put it away if someone is coming over and you’re not really ready for them to see it.

A vision board is simply a visual illustration of all the things you want to own or accomplish. And while the board alone won’t get you what you want it will motivate you to do whatever you need to do to make those things possible in your own life. That’s why I feel that no home based business owner should be without one!

Are You A Part Of The Social Networking Revolution?

Social networking is one of the best and biggest things to happen to the network marketing industry maybe ever. So if you’re involved in a home based business and you’re not on some form of a social networking site you’re really missing the boat! What is social networking exactly? It’s pretty simple actually. Social networking sites like Twitter, Myspace and Facebook allow you to create a profile and chat with, leave messages for and socially interact with friends, family and anyone else you choose no matter where in the world they live.

A lot of people might be tempted to believe that these sites are only for college students and teenagers. However, the truth is that people are marketing their home based businesses on these hugely popular sites all the time! I’ve seen 70 year olds on Facebook! It’s defiantly not just for kids!

Now that we’ve established that you need to take part in these interactive websites there are a few things you need to know. First of all these sites are not intended for you to blatantly market on. Sure you can do that. However, it probably won’t be well received and you won’t reach a lot of people by doing that.

People come on to these sites to be personal and have fun. So what you want to do is just be a real person! Take off your marketing hat and just be who you really are. Now while you’re doing that of course you are more than welcome to market your business (hey, it’s a part of who you are right!) just make sure you do it all in moderation!

Also, while these sites can help you get a lot of attention to your business they can also be really addictive! So try not to use them as your only form of marketing online. And don’t get too sucked in otherwise you can wake up from your internet coma and realize you’ve spent 4 hours on Facebook! (Believe me I’ve done it!)

So if you’re not already a part of the social networking revolution get started today! It’s the easiest and most fun you can have marketing your business online!

What Is Your Home Based Business Motivation?

Probably one of the biggest differences between people who succeed and people who fail in home based business is motivation. Simply put, if you don’t have really good motivation to succeed in a home based business you probably wont. That’s because building a business from home can be really hard.

There are going to all kinds of bumps in the road and if you don’t have the proper kind of motivation you’re probably not going to make it. So before you do anything else with your home based business. Or before you even start a home based business. It’s a really good idea of ask yourself: what’s my home based business motivation?

If you think you know what your motivation is let me stop you right there and tell you that your motivation should never, ever be money! If the only thing you have in your sights is a dollar amount you probably have about a 99% chance of failure. That’s because even though money is a huge motivator it’s not enough! It’s what you would do with that money that’s really going to keep you going!

Would you quit your job and take your kids to Disney World? Would you build your parents the house of their dreams? Would you finally take that trip across the globe? Would you give more money to your church? Whatever it is that you would do with all that money THAT is your motivation not the money it’s self.

More often than not your motivation has to do with people rather than possessions. Because even though everyone wants to live in their dream home no house can be more motivating than the idea of spending more time with your kids or grandkids. Try to think of the most emotional, and most personal reasons for succeeding in your business. Those are the things that are going to ensure that you succeed no matter how many road bumps you encounter.

Are you starting to think of things yet?

Do yourself and your business a favor, before you do anything else get a pen and paper and write out the top 10 things that motivate you to succeed in your business! It might sound silly but this will help you more than you can ever imagine. Pull out that piece of paper anytime you don’t feel like working or you want to sit on the couch and watch t.v. rather than make a few more calls!

Best of luck to you and your business. I know this will really help you. Once you have the proper motivation you can do anything!

Is Network Marketing A Scam?

AmwayImage via Wikipedia

No matter how many lives are changed by a network marketing opportunity still the public opinion seems to remain that network marketing isn’t real, isn’t legal, and is a huge scam. So who’s telling the truth? The people who claim to have changed their lives with MLM or the people who say they got ripped off and didn’t make anything?

The divide between people who believe in network marketing and the people who hate it can be found just about anywhere. If you don’t believe me wait until your next big family event and as them what they think about network marketing. Chances are uncle Charlie will start into a huge story about how he joined such and such company in the 80’s and didn’t make anything. Aunt Charlotte will just roll her eyes and if anyone is being honest someone will probably admit that they’ve been interested in joining a specific company and have heard good things about it. If the group is big enough you might even have one or two people who have made money in this very misunderstood industry.

People are very torn when it comes to network marketing and because of all the good and bad hype it can be really hard to know what the real deal is. So if you’re one of those confused people who can’t seem to figure out if network marketing is legit or a scam here are a few points to ponder. This comes from someone who has been involved in the network marketing industry in some way or another since I was very young. So I’m not just spouting off things I found online… this is actual experience.

First of all let me just settle one thing here and now. Network marketing is LEGAL! A pyramid scheme and a legitimate network marketing company are NOT the same thing. Pyramids are illegal. Network marketing companies like Mary Kay and Amway have been around for what seems like forever and if they were illegal wouldn’t they have been shut down by now? Of course! Network marketing is a legitimate form of business. It might not be the norm but it is defiantly legal and ethical.

Secondly, network marketing isn’t for everybody. In this world there are job people and business people. There isn’t anything wrong with being one or the other it’s just who you are. Job people need a boss, a schedule, and a steady paycheck to feel secure and safe. Business people want to take control of their lives a bit more. They are self motivated and usually creative. They are driven and are ok with not having a steady check for a while because they know how building a business will pay off in the end.

Chances are if Uncle Charlie had a bad experience and didn’t make any money in a network marketing company it didn’t have anything to do with the business but the fact that Uncle Charlie wasn’t made to be a business owner and because of that the business didn’t work for him.

I hope that those two points helped to clarify a few things and helped you understand the truth about network marketing.

If you feel like you were born to be a business man or woman get more information about a home based business today. It could be one of the best things you ever do.
