So what do I mean by sorting people? Well what professionals and people who are extremely successful in network marketing do is tell people about an opportunity and then back away. They don’t try to sell people on anything. They don’t bug their friends and family to death. They just tell people about an opportunity and then sort them into a category. Either “yes”, “no” or “not right now”.
Professionals know that it doesn’t matter what category people fall into. It’s ok to be in the “no” box as long as you have heard the message it’s totally up to you. Successful network marketers simply tell as many people as possible about what they do and then back away, no pressure, no big fancy pitch it’s either “yes”, “no” or “not right now”.
This approach is so great because it takes all of the pressure off of the person you’re talking to. They won’t feel like if they don’t sign up you’ll be mad a them or whatever. It will also take the pressure off of you. You don’t have to make everyone fall into the “yes” category. Only the people who really want it will say yes and as long as you’ve presented the opportunity to them it doesn’t matter what they say. The pressure is totally off of you.
The bottom line is that people hate to be sold on things! They hate it! So don’t be an annoying sales person. Sort rather than sell and you won’t be “that annoying person who’s trying to get me into a business” that everyone can’t stand. (nobody likes that guy!)
