Training on attraction marketing dictates that you need to get your method of list building right at the every start. If you don’t you will find you waste a whole load of your valuable time. Six deadly sins exist that could kill your list building from the start. This article will explore these sins and how you can avoid them.
The 6 Deadly Sins Of Attraction Marketing List Building
1. Selecting the wrong market. This might seem like a sweeping statement, but if is a common error that many people make time and time again. An example of a wrong market is one that is too narrow a niche and whilst it might be popular, you will be limited in the products you can offer in this area.
2. A list that is not targeted or not specific enough. You need to focus on a targeted audience that has an interest in a specific product or service. This will give you a much wider choice over the products and services that you choose to promote.
3. Product markets that are one-off. This is further good advice for you. Yes, you might make a sale and earn a large amount of money, but what is your next move. What can you offer your audience next? Products that fall into the one-off category might include beds or large white goods. When you make a sale of this nature what are you going to do next? These customers may buy in the future, but it might be years before they need to buy another bed or refrigerator. This is why you need to focus on consumable products that require regular renewal and also digital goods such as books.
4. Purchasing an attraction marketing list. This is a real mistake! Avoid paying money for lists. For a start, these lists may not be relevant to you and may not even be targeted. More importantly, have the contacts been signed up to the list legally? Did they approve their details to be recorded on such a list? This is too large an unknown area and you should not take risks with this kind of information let alone your money. It only takes one corrupt list to get you into a lot of trouble.
5. Sending too many emails to your attraction marketing list. This is a very common and huge mistake made by enthusiastic IM’ers. If you bombard your audience with email after email they will start to unsubscribe from your list in large numbers. Avoid it at all costs. Instead, build relationships with your audience. Email them weekly and give them something that is going to be of value to them like some tips or an answer to a problem. This will give you more credibility and once you are ready to promote your product they will be more receptive to it.
6. Identify yourself in a clear manner. Before you make yourself known to your readers you need to avoid the inclusion of lots of URLs in your emails to them. The truth is, you should only be thinking about including one link right now and that should be how readers can unsubscribe from your list. This should be included at the bottom of each email.
