Does the idea of starting your own small business really appeal to you, but you are sure how to get started? Many newcomers to the business world believe that it takes a lot of capital investment and networking to succeed in any business realm. The truth is that all businesses started in more less the same way: A person, or a group of people, had an idea, and they carried through their idea to the very end. Do you love to cook? Do you love to care for young children, or the elderly? These are all potential small business opportunities. The trick is finding out what you love to do and how you can't translate this into a viable business opportunity.

Nice post. I would like to run a business soon, so I found this helpful. I know it will be tough, but I know I'm ready for it. Instead of starting one from scratch, I'm strongly considering buying a business. Any suggestions? Advice? Thanks.

@Ethan -- My advice is the check if there are any local small business groups in your area. There should be at least one, and they should be able to help you.

I also highly suggest BizTrader.com. It's an online global marketplace where you can buy a business or even sell a business. There's a lot to choose from and you can use it to find a lender or other professional help. Good luck!
