You have those network marketers that have grasped the real meaning of providing a good service and developing a good relationship with a prospect before considering presenting their offer. The other kind is what we refer to as desperate network marketers.

Do you know which type you are? If you classify yourself as a renegade network marketer then you will recognize the traits of the first type. Unfortunately, the majority of network marketers are still classed under the second type.

What makes a desperate network marketer? To put it plainly, pre-selling and attraction marketing are sadly lacking from their resume. These two factors are the most important if you are to succeed.

Actually, desperate network marketers are similar to a tiger shark. They are aggressive, only think of themselves and never think to ask questions.

Can you see where we are headed with this? Desperate network marketers simply can’t grasp the nothing of pre-selling. Here is an example of this.

We’ll pretend that our desperate network marketer has gained a little bit of knowledge in attraction marketing and is going to employ some of the renegade methods in order to attract people to his funnel.

He is excited as he has utilized some real estate on the Internet and it is starting to draw in targeted prospects. Now he has ten prospects who have contacted him for additional information. Excited, our desperate network marketer picks up the phone and calls his first prospect.

Things seem to be running smoothly after he has introduced himself and we are only a couple of minutes into the phonecall. What could possibly go wrong? And then we see it happen. Like a tiger shark, his eyes roll over in his head and he can’t help but start reciting his sales pitch and talking about himself.

“We have been going for 30 years and are a robust and powerful business. The products we sell will change lives and you need to be involved. Do it for yourself and your family. Tell everyone about our products and how much they need them etc. etc. etc…”

In actual fact, give it about 30 seconds and you will have lost the attention of your prospect who is now starting to check their watch and look for a way to get you off the phone. The desperate network marketer has ruined any prospects he had of working with this person.

So what went wrong? They only talked about themselves, their products, and the company. What they should have done is started talking about the prospect and his expectations and needs.

The golden opportunity was missed of offering to educate and train the prospect.
Education and training information should have been offered to the prospect so they could take this away and read it before their next meeting.
